ICS receives ISO 9001 and publishes data on IATI
At the beginning of August ICS received the Partos 9001 certificate. Partos, the interest group of international aid in the Netherlands, developed a sector specific application of the ISO 9001. This standard sets quality requirements to the quality management system of an organization and pays attention to the specific circumstances in the work field of international aid. Next, ICS published the first data at the end of August, on the online platform IATI. Partos helps out Dutch aid organizations with the implementation of IATI by a roadmap.
IATI, the International Aid Transparency Initiative, aims to make information on international aid more transparent, user friendly and accessible. ICS endorses the importance of increasing transparency concerning aid activities and spending’s worldwide. All data of 2013 are filled out, from now on they will be completed periodically with new data.
IATI makes use of so called ‘open data’. Thanks to these open data information is accessible and usable for everybody and by everyone. The data will be published in a technical framework allowing it to be compared. IATI brings together donors and recipient countries, civil society organizations and other experts in aid information. The main purpose is to let these different parties function and cooperate better.
