First kids Helpline Tanzania

ICS partner organisation C-SEMA and ICS made a Helpline possible for children in Tanzania. The toll free line, 116, the first Helpline for children is now operational in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).  This was effected on the Day of the African Child as a soft government launch by the Minister for Community Development, Mrs Simba.

The toll free line is dedicated for distress calls from children themselves if they need to report abuse or to adults  who wish to report neglect or suspected abuse of children in their neighbourhood.  The Helpline then supports with the necessary action of rescue or referral to an accessible support service .

ICS supports C-SEMA in child protection initiatives. C-SEMA is hence a partner organisation in Tanzania.
